Scope
Native hydromulching and roadside rehabilitation

How This Project Came Together

The Brief

The broader project upgrades more than 300 kilometres of the New England, Golden and Castlereagh Highways, improving key sections of the road network to move oversized renewable energy infrastructure from the Port of Newcastle into the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone. Our works were delivered progressively across multiple locations, using a custom native seed blend incorporated into the hydromulching treatment to meet the project's roadside rehabilitation requirements.

What We Delivered

Working within active road corridors meant coordinating closely with BMD's site teams, traffic management and other construction activity, with our crews mobilising to different work fronts as areas became available. The spread of works across multiple locations required tight mobilisation and forward planning, with materials and equipment coordinated for each move so works could be completed without disrupting the broader program. Detailed batching and application records were maintained throughout, providing traceability of seed, materials, quantities and application rates across every treatment area.

The Outcome

Port to REZ demonstrates our ability to integrate into major civil infrastructure projects and deliver large-scale revegetation within challenging, live construction environments - responding to changing site requirements across a geographically dispersed and operationally complex program.
